You might not see Cristiano Ronaldo on the pitch on Wednesday night against Galatasaray but there will be 45,000 'Ronaldos' in the stands of the Santiago Bernabeu as supporters make their feelings known about who should win the Ballon d’Or felt.
Two of Real Madrid’s largest supporters clubs have come up with the idea of giving out 45,000 Ronaldo face-masks ahead of the game against Roberto Mancini's team so fans can put them on as the two teams come out – not so much 'Being John Malkovic' as 'Being Cristiano Ronaldo'.

There will also a 10-metre wide banner reading ‘Our unconditional support for ‘Comandante’ Cristiano. For the Ballon d’Or and La Decima’ the latter referring to Real Madrid's attempt at winning their 10th European Cup this season.
The show of overwhelming support for Ronaldo was put in jeopardy by the thigh injury that will keep him out of Wednesday's game but having ordered the masks from Italy the supporters groups want to go ahead with the idea and on Monday they met with club officials to discuss how to distribute them.
Ronaldo, meanwhile will come face to face with Zlatan Ibrahimovic again in January after a date was set for their rematch. The Real Madrid star won their international showdown to send Portugal through to the World Cup finals but they will now meet again in a club Friendly on January 2. PSG will play Real Madrid in Doha. The news means Gareth Bale will still not have a proper winter break.
The former Tottenham star might have thought he would be escaping playing during the festive period this year but although he can rest up over Christmas, he will need to report to the club on New Year's day to make the 5,341km flight to Qatar.
