Arsenal Duo Wilshere and Flamini Could be in For United Clash

Arsenal were boosted by the presence of midfielders Jack Wilshere and Mathieu Flamini at training on Saturday ahead of their visit to Manchester United.

The pair, who have both been sidelined due to injury, were back on the pitch at Arsenal's training HQ in Colney a day before their trip to Old Trafford.

Wilshere showed no signs of the ankle injury that has kept him out as he looked to be enjoying himself in the rain. Both men now could feature in the crunch game against Manchester United on Sunday.

Arsenal travel to Old Trafford with a five-point lead at the top of the Premier League. Last Saturday, goals from Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey helped the Gunners defeat Liverpool 2-0 at the Emirates.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said: We want consistency at the top level. Playing Manchester United is one of the benchmarks of the season. We can gain confidence and credit.

A trip to Old Trafford means another meeting with former Arsenal striker Robin van Persie, who moved to United from North London at the beginning of last season.

When referring to the Dutch forward, Wenger added: 'It's strange because for me he is an Arsenal man. I took him when he was a very, very young player. We have gone together through very difficult periods and he became a world-class player and for me he is an Arsenal player.'
