[Revealed] RVP Paid Arsenal A Visit After Gunning Them Down

Van Persie caused controversy by celebrating the goal with many critics insisting that he showed a lack of respect for the team he spent seven years playing for

The former Arsenal striker scored the only goal in a 1-0 win at Old Trafford in a tie that dampened Arsenal's title hopes whilst revitalising Manchester United's.

But according to the daily national, Van Persie visited the Arsenal dressing room after the match to congratulate Arsene Wenger, the players and the backroom staff on their fine start to the season and wished them well for the future.

Many of the Arsenal players had already left to board the team bus, but it is understood that the few that remained received Van Persie's well wishes warmly.

Reports suggest that Van Persie was inspired to celebrate his headed goal after a series of vile chants rang out from the away section at Old Trafford.

Van Persie had previously stated that he did not plan to ever celebrate a goal against the Gunners, but the abuse coming from the travelling fans convinced him otherwise.
