Joe Hart's Manchester City exile goes on after Manuel Pellegrini confirmed Costel Pantilimon will continue in goal against CSKA Moscow tomorrow night. Hart will miss his third game for City, with Pellegrini insisting he needs a break after making a series of high-profile blunders.
"At this moment, it's very important for him to have a rest because he has played all the matches for the last two-and-a-half years.
"We will see in the future what we must do, but for tomorrow, Pantilimon will play."
Pellegrini claims Hart has taken being axed well and is working hard in training.
The Chilean added: "Joe has reacted very well. He's a professional player.
"For him it is a good thing to have a rest after playing so many games in the last two-and-a-half years.
"He is working without any problems and supporting Costel Pantilimon.
"Of course, nobody wants to be out, but Joe thinks it will be useful for him."
Pellegrini also backed UEFA's decision to close part of CSKA's Khimki Arena after some of their fans racially abused Yaya Toure two weeks ago in Moscow.
He continued: "I don't know why they denied it at the beginning.
"I think that UEFA have acted and made the punishment that they deserved.
"I hope now that this is a thing we can leave in the past. It will be an example to the Russian fans because they have a World Cup in their country."
