Former Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu has been banned from playing for Romania ever again – after comparing the team’s manager to Mr Bean.
Mutu, who is known as a controversial figure, is currently plying his trade for French minnows Ajaccio after a difficult few years in the game.
And it appears they’ll be the only team he does play for in future, with the striker now being kicked out of the national team for a Photoshop attack on his manager.
The 34-year-old had been hoping to establish himself as a regular for Romania in the coming months after previously being dropped from the squad by coach Victor Piturca.
But after he was left out for the World Cup qualifier against Greece, the angry striker mocked Piturca by comparing him to Mr Bean in a bizarre image he posted on his Facebook page.
The image was quickly removed, but the Romanian FA found out about the incident, and have now sent Mutu a letter informing him that he won’t be called up for the national team again in the future.
