The Flamingoes of Nigeria have been paired against South Sudan in the final round qualifiers for the Fourth Edition of the Fifa U-17 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica next year.
South Sudan dispatched the Moroccan female team to book a date with the Nigerian ladies who were drawn-by having represented Africa in the last three editions.
Six countries namely Nigeria, Zambia, South Africa, Ghana, Equatorial Guinea and South Sudan are the only countries left in this round and the best three teams will hoist Africa’s flag at the biennial female football fiesta.
Nigeria will challenge South Sudan, while Zambia play South Africa with Ghana slugging it out against Equatorial Guinea in a two-legged fixture.
South Sudan will host the first leg against Nigeria in the weekend of November 1-3 with the Flamingoes, that are yet to get a substantive coach, hosting the reverse fixture in Abuja on November 23.
Meanwhile, the Confederation of African Football has appointed Kenyan referee, Damaris Kimani to take charge of the first leg showdown in Juba, the capital of South Sudan with Jane Cherono, Mary Njoroge and Agneta Wambui Napangor serving as the assistants while Ugandan Aisha Natule is the match commissioner.
Nigeria got eliminated by France in the quarter finals of the 2012 edition staged in Azerbaijan.
