Out in the Cold: Turkish outfit Besiktas to target Spurs outcast Adebayor in January

Besiktas will again try to lure Emmanuel Adebayor away from Tottenham in January. The 29-year-old turned down the proposed move to Turkey in August preferring to wait for other offers. However, his lack of game time may prompt him to reconsider.

Besiktas vice president Ahmet Nur Cebi confirmed: 'We were interested in Adebayor in August. The club will target Adebayor again in January, but it's difficult to sign such marketable players.'

Cebi has also stated that Brazilian Ronaldinho remains another possible target, with the former Barcelona star currently back in his homeland with Atletico Mineiro.


Adebayor meanwhile has been on the sidelines and out of favour at Spurs, with Roberto Soldado and Jermaine Defoe being preferred over the former Arsenal man.
