Nigerian International and Chelsea FC Midfielder, John Mikel Obi at the weekend raised the stake to justify his double nomination for the Footballer of the Year and the Sportsman of the Year Awards in the 2013 edition of the Nigerian Sports Award by sealing victory for the Stamford Bridge side in their 2-0 win at home over Fulham.

The 85th minute stunner was the Super Eagles star’s first English Premiership League goal since joining the Blues about seven seasons ago playing his 185th league game.

The Nigerian International who won the Footballer of the Year Award in the maiden edition of the award last year is up for the two categories awards against Victor Moses, his Chelsea and Super Eagles teammate who is currently on loan at Liverpool FC.
